TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Tulare County Sheriff's Office is warning the public about a phone scam.
They say scammers are pretending to be with the sheriff's office, calling about a warrant for an arrest.
They provide the potential victim with the address to a website meant to look like the Tulare County Sheriff's Office website.
That website is fake. The replica website is tccso.org.
One victim says the caller advised her to pay a fine on the fake website and scammed her out of more than $1,300.
The sheriff's office says it will never call you and ask for money, even if you have a warrant for your arrest.
