
TULARE, Calif. (KFSN) -- An investigation is underway following a collision involving a Tulare Police vehicle.
The officer was responding to reports of a baby not breathing when the crash occurred.
The collision happened at the intersection of Bardsley and South K Street.
Police say the officer was driving with lights and sirens on.
The officer had minor injuries and the other driver was not hurt.
Once first responders arrived, the baby was rushed to the hospital.
Despite life-saving efforts, the child was pronounced dead.
The Tulare Police Department is now investigating the circumstances surrounding the child's death.
Releasing a statement saying in part: "The investigation is being treated as suspicious circumstances at this time, pending the cause of death."
