TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- More than 2,000 firefighters are still on the frontlines of the massive Windy Fire burning in the Sequoia National Forest.

The Windy Fire has burned more than 87,000 and is only 4% contained.

A new timelapse video shows the wildfire near the Tobias Peak lookout just east of Earlimart.

An evacuation warning is in effect this morning for the Gold Ledge Campground south to the Kern River near the Tulare and Kern County border.

Meantime, several evacuation orders remain in effect, with some in place now for nearly a week.

A temporary evacuation center is open at Porterville College.

Many crews covered structures with aluminized wrap to protect them from the flames.

One of those buildings was the Mule Peak Lookout in the Sequoia National Forest. But when the Windy Fire tore through the area several days ago, firefighters say the structure did not make it.

A radio repeater was also destroyed. For more information on all evacuation orders and warnings in Tulare County, click here.

Both Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks remain closed due to the wildfire.
