21-year-old woman killed in car crash in Kings County, CHP says

KINGS COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- One woman is dead and another is recovering after a two-car crash in Kings County.

She has been identified as 21-year-old Marisa Gomez.

It happened just after 11 am Sunday on 16th Avenue and Lacey Boulevard -- that's in the country between Lemoore and Hanford.

The California Highway Patrol says a woman driving a Hyundai Santa Cruz was headed westbound on Lacey, approaching the intersection with 16th Avenue when a woman in a Ford Mustang traveling southbound failed to yield and drove in front of the Hyundai.

The Ford was hit on the driver's side, and Gomez died at the hospital.

The driver of the Hyundai suffered only minor injuries.
