Three firefighters were killed on Saturday while responding to the Snyder Fire, a wildfire burning along the Utah-Colorado border, the U.S. Wildland Fire Service announced overnight.
The community of Porterville honored two firefighters who were killed in the line of duty three years ago.
The teen was sentenced to a short-term program of up to six months in juvenile hall, counseling, and 100 hours of volunteer work.
"Our families have been devastated twice," the father of one of the fallen Porterville firefighters said after a judge dismissed murder charges against both the teens.
Murder charges have been dismissed against two teenagers who set the deadly Porterville library fire, and one won't face any charges.
The trial of two boys accused of starting the Porterville Library fire that killed firefighter Patrick Jones and Captain Raymond Figueroa continued on Thursday.
