Washington man saves 4-year-old boy from running into traffic

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- A Good Samaritan in Washington, who saved a 4-year-old boy from running into traffic, was found after police had been searching for him to say thanks.

In a surveillance video, the Good Samaritan is shown stopping his silver car and running out to stop the young boy in his tracks before he runs straight into traffic.

"You can see him moving and reaching out to catch the kid. It was great" said Federal Way Police Cmdr. Casey Jones.

Once the little boy was safely in the hands of an officer nearby, the man takes off. Officers were on the lookout for him.

They posted the video online, which more than 13,000 people watched, but still there had been no sign of the driver of the car. That is until ABC Seattle affiliate KOMO-TV tracked him down.

His name is Sean Deeds, and he had no idea he was wanted. Police said the young boy somehow opened a door at home and ran outside. Deeds was taking his son Derrick fishing when he saw the little boy running alone headed for the street.

"I don't feel like I did anything special. I was just really thankful to be there at the right time," he said.

The mother of the young boy met with Deeds for the first time, and she was grateful for his good deed.
