The Seattle Mariners are close to an agreement on a two-year deal with lefty reliever Marc Rzepczynski, a source told ESPN's Jerry Crasnick, confirming multiple reports.

Rzepczynski, 31, posted a 2.64 ERA in 47 innings pitched last season for the Oakland Athletics and Washington Nationals.

The Nationals acquired him on Aug. 25 in exchange for minor league infielder Max Schrock.

After the trade, Rzepczynski posted a 1.54 ERA in 11 innings for Washington.

He has a 3.80 ERA in 393 innings in eight major league seasons, which includes stops with the Blue Jays, Cardinals, Indians, Padres, Athletics and Nationals.
