FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The 16-year-old girl who was shot and killed in Central Fresno on Saturday has been identified as Alize Morales.
Authorities say it happened near Belmont and Glenn when Morales and her friend were in a car. Another car pulled up and opened fire at least 15 times.
She was shot twice in the chest and died, a 16-year-old boy was shot in the wrist.
"It is unfortunate to lose a life regardless of what their background might be or what they may have been involved in, especially a young life like that is tragic for the family and tragic for us as a community," says Fresno Police Lt. Anthony Dewall.
Officers say the 16-year-old boy is not cooperating with their investigation.
Police have not announced any arrests or provided a possible suspect description.
