LONDON

The device, which is currently in clinical trials in Europe, works like a heart pacemaker.

It sends out electrical pulses to the brain that kick in just after eating. These messages notify the body that it is full after consuming a small amount of food.

One person in the study said it makes him feel full after eating just half of his meal.

The long term effectiveness of the device is not yet known.
