VISALIA (KFSN) -- A proposed bus route would link Visalia and Fresno. The city of Visalia says they've been getting requests for years to create a route from downtown to Fresno. Now they're hoping to make that a reality.
Visalia applied for a $530 thousand grant from the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District for three shuttles and three years of service for the route. It would include a stop at Fresno State.
The route would cost $10.00 each way with discounts for students, seniors and frequent riders. The city will find out in February if they're receiving the grant.
The route could begin as early as August -- if they get the money.
