Children First: Coping During COVID-19
Segment 1 of 4 - ABC30 half-hour special highlights heroes and helpers during the coronavirus pandemic.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Living during a pandemic is stressful but there are local examples of unity and inspiration. ABC30 aired its new Children First program, Coping During COVID-19, on Sunday, May 3, at 6:30 p.m. Encore presentations will air May 16 at 5:00p.m, May 24 at 10:30a.m.and June 7 at 5:00p.m. Action News anchor Margot Kim hosts the television special focusing on the impact the coronavirus pandemic is having on local families and the people and programs offering help and hope.

The special includes local children and families supporting healthcare workers by making masks and donating food. Watch how valley teachers and families are dealing with distance learning and the special parades held to connect with students. Six students from six valley schools share how the pandemic has impacted their lives and how they are coping. Dr. Jennifer Newell with Tulare County Office of Education offers parents tips on how to support their children during difficult times. Discover apps that can help reduce anxiety. Learn how this new normal is sparking creativity and see unique senior pictures capturing history! The program shows how the average person can make a difference in a child's life and highlights local organizations working with children. The Children First campaign includes half-hour programs like "Coping During COVID-19", thirty-second public service announcements and special stories on Action News.
