Jim Costa to advance to general election for 21st Congressional District: AP

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Associated Press has projected Democrat Jim Costa to advance to the general election for California's 21st Congressional District.

Costa has 18,204 votes as of Tuesday night while Republican Michael Maher has 7,634 votes.

The 21st district includes parts of Fresno and Tulare counties.
