3 Fresh & Easy stores to close in Valley

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresh & Easy plans to close about 50 stores in California, Arizona and Nevada in the coming weeks.

The closures will impact three Valley locations. They are the store on Shaw and West avenues in Northwest Fresno, Cedar and Nees avenues in Northeast Fresno and the store on Herndon and Fowler avenues in Clovis. They will all be closed by April 3.

The grocery chain says it is pursuing a new business model. The company introduced a new "click and collect" service in Las Vegas that allows shoppers to buy online and pick up the purchased items at the store. Fresh & Easy said the service will serve as a test for a wider rollout.

Our photographer who was at the store on Shaw and West said everything was 50 percent off on Monday.

This leaves just two Fresh & Easy locations in the Valley: Lemoore and Reedley.
