1 killed in Northwest Fresno car crash

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A person is dead and two others are in the hospital following an early morning car crash Sunday.

It happened in Northwest Fresno on Ashlan and Palm Avenues. Police say 21-year-old Lawrence Walker blew through a red light and hit the side of another car, killing a passenger and leaving the driver with major injuries.

Walker was also hurt but took off. Police found him a short time later and took him to the hospital.

He was arrested for DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
