Father and son die in hiking accident near Shaver Lake

Two people died Saturday after a hiking accident near Shaver Lake, authorities said.

A man and his son were hiking along a trail when the two fell off a cliff at Shaver Rock, according to the Fresno County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities have not released the identities of the hikers and are investigating how the accident happened.

A search and rescue crew will be back out Sunday morning to recover the bodies.

Investigators said the accident occurred in the same location a child fell to his death back in 2014.
