Investigators say Alonso was upset because he was denied entry due to an expired ID.
FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno Police say they have arrested 28-year-old John Alonso, a known gang member, for firing shots outside of Bobby Salazar's Taqueria in Tower District.
On the night of Friday, September 9th, Alonso came to the restaurant in Central Fresno and tried to enter using an expired ID.
When the security guards refused to allow him in, Alonso became enraged, returned to a car and grabbed a gun.
Alonzo continued his fight with the security guards, then suddenly fired three rounds into the air, striking the overhang of the business.
After firing the shots, Alonzo left the area, but officers were able to identify him using surveillance video that captured most of the incident.
After searching for several days, Alonzo was finally arrested on Thursday, September 15th.
Alonso will be booked at the Fresno County Jail on felony charges related to the assault and shooting.
Fresno Police say they will file a case against Alonzo with the Multi-Agency Gang Enforcement Consortium (MAGEC) prosecution team.
