Annual plant sale held at Fresno State

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Fresno Iris Society and the Fresno State Horticulture Nursery teamed up to host their annual plant sale on Saturday.

Shoppers not only had hundreds of varieties of iris to choose from, but numerous other plants in multiple colors were for sale.

Iris bulbs, or rhizomes, are dormant in the hot months, and Iris Society members say they're great for the Central Valley since they are drought tolerant.

Proceeds from Saturday's sale benefit the nonprofit organization's efforts to promote interest in irises.
