Gov Brown appoints Kathleen A. Meehan to the Fifth District Court of Appeal

FRESNO, California (KFSN) -- Governor Jerry Brown announced the appointment of Kathleen A. Meehan as associate justice of the Fifth District Court of Appeal on Friday.

Meehan has been a judge at the Fresno County Superior Court since 2014. She is filling a vacancy created by Justice Dennis A. Cornell, who retired.

The position requires that Meehan be confirmed by the Commission on Judicial Appointments before taking over the position.

Meehan is a Democrat.
