Man found shot multiple times inside car in southwest Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno police are investigating after a man was shot and killed in southwest Fresno on Wednesday morning.

Officers were called to the area of Pottle Avenue near Fresno Street just before 5 a.m.

When they arrived, they found a man in his 30s inside a car that had stopped in the front yard of a home shot multiple times in the upper torso.

Paramedics tried to save him, but he died at the scene.

Detectives spent the morning gathering evidence while trying to determine what led up to the shooting. Further details have not been released.

Pottle Avenue was closed between Fresno Street and Merced Street. Drivers are advised to avoid the area.
