PACIFIC GROVE, Calif. (KFSN) -- A lot of people are leaving the Valley, escaping the heat for cooler weather.

It's been sunny skies all day at Pacific Grove, California. A lot like a nice spring day in Fresno -- if you can remember what that's like. The sun is shining, but it's not beating down on anyone. There's a cool breeze, fresh air, and people from the Valley taking it all in.

"Oh my gosh, I love it, I love it so much. I could just stay here," said Audrey Metcalf.

Metcalf is from Fresno where triple digit heat has been baking the streets. "Fresno, it's hot, hot, hot."

Compared to this, Fresno might as well be a different planet. Inside the Monterey Bay Aquarium, it also looks like it. Sea creatures swim in front of large crowds and divers feed fish in giant tanks.

Jasmin Delgadillo is here with her daughter, they're from Modesto. "It's too hot where we live and it's her first time coming here so we want her to experience it."

Kat McHenry works here. She's also from Fresno. She left 7 years ago and runs into people from home all the time. "So many of our visitors that tell me they're from the Valley, also tell me it was hot when they left."

Back outside, with the paddle boats and people on the beach we ran into Maria Ayala. She lives in Reedley where there is a sandy shore but it's not quite like this. "It's a little humid because we got a little bit of rain so it's definitely good to get away from that."
