HOUSTON -- Multi-millionaire and one-time-accused-killer Robert Durst has been arrested again. This time, he's accused of exposing himself and urinating at a southwest Houston drug store.
Sources tell Eyewitness News Durst got into some sort of altercation Sunday afternoon with employees at a drug store in the 6000 block of Kirby. At one point, he urinated on the register, damaging about $100 worth of candy. He's been charged with a Class B misdemeanor.
"I have been notified Mr. Durst was arrested for a Class B Misdemeanor and is in the bonding process. He will go through the process like any other citizen of Harris County. We will deal with the case on its merits once he is released from jail," his defense attorney, Chip Lewis, said in a prepared statement to Eyewitness News.
Lewis says Durst is married and his wife is the person who contacted him when Durst was arrested. Durst was currently under no supervision or parole when arrested.
Durst, a New York real estate heir, was accused of killing and dismembering an elderly neighbor in Galveston in 2001 and was acquitted of murder. He was arrested in 2006 for a parole violation in Houston and sentenced to 60 days in jail.
