2 people hospitalized following shooting in Central Fresno, police say

FRESNO, Calif. -- The Fresno Police Department is investigating a shooting that injured two people on Saturday morning.

Officers responded to the neighborhood of Del Mar and Harvard Avenues for a ShotSpotter activation shortly before 4:30 a.m.

As officers arrived, they saw a car leaving the area at a high rate of speed and followed the car to the hospital.

Two people in that car had gunshot wounds.

One person is in stable condition and the second underwent surgery.

Authorities found the crime scene and are investigating what led to the gunfire.
