Authorities search for suspicious armed man near Highway 190 in Porterville

PORTERVILLE, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Porterville Police Department and Tulare County Sheriff's Office are responding to a report of a suspicious man walking around with a gun in the area of Highway 190 and Martin Street.
Officials say there is no threat to the public. However, schools in the area have been placed on lockdown as a safety precaution.
The public is asked to avoid the area and find alternate routes as they search for the suspect.
