
FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno State extended its win streak to 5 winning 20-17 over Nevada. The Bulldogs improve to 5-1 on the season and 2-0 in Mountain West play.
It was a first half filled with turnovers. EJ Warner was picked off on the Bulldogs opening drive, his 6th interception of the season. However, the Bulldogs were helped by 4 turnovers from the Wolf Pack including 3 interceptions from Chubba Purdy, the younger brother to 49ers QB Brock Purdy.
Warner settled in going 18/26 passing for 190 yards and 2 touchdowns. Josiah Freeman came in without a touchdown for the 2025 season but pulled in 2 in the first half. A pair of Dylan Lynch field goals from 38 and 21 yards made it 20-3 FS at the break.
FS was shutout in the third quarter and after a 15 touchdown pass from Carter Jones to Dakota Thomas, the Bulldog lead was cut to 10 heading into the final period.
After a third straight 3 and out from FS, Nevada used a 4 play 65-yard drive to quickly score and make it a one possession game. Jones found Caleb Ramseur for a 17-yard touchdown to make it 20-17 FS with 12:36 to play.
A gutsy run from Warner to convert on third & 11 was part of a 15 play 68-yard drive that sealed the game for the Bulldogs by taking the final 8:42 off the clock. SJM alum Brandon Ramirez also converted a couple of first downs running for 38 yards on 5 carries.
Rayshon Luke was the team's leading rusher with 83 yards on 9 carries.
It's a short week for the team that travels to play Colorado State (1-4, 0-1) on Friday. Kickoff from Canvas Stadium in Colorado Springs is set for 6:00 PM on October 10th.
