Big Fresno Fair introduces clear bag policy

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Big Fresno Fair has a bag policy change, and they want visitors to be prepared so they aren't turned around at the gate.

"We're trying to mirror the safety and security protocols we're already seeing in Fresno County, like at the Fresno Grizzlies, like at the Save Mart Center, like at Fresno State football game," said Taylor Collins with Big Fresno Fair. "It's very important to our security plan to keep everyone here as safe, happy and enjoying everything the fair has to offer."

Bags smaller than 4.5 x 6.5 x 2 inches are allowed and don't need to be clear.

Clear bags up to 12 x 6 x 12 are allowed.

There are some exceptions to the rule.

"We are making exceptions for medical bags, for fair education days if you're bringing in a student who needs to bring in their lunch or backpack," said Collins. "Livestock at that gate."

Diaper bags are also allowed in.

All bags can be inspected upon entry.

There will be signs posted in the parking lots about the bag policy as a reminder to patrons before entering the fairgrounds.
