CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) -- More than a dozen students from across the Valley were honored Saturday night during a scholarship awards dinner hosted by the Bridge-to-College nonprofit.

The organization held its Senior Scholarship Awards dinner at the Clovis Senior Activities Center, where this year's theme, "Leaving a Legacy," highlighted student achievements and future aspirations.

16 students received scholarships totaling $8,000.

In addition to financial awards, students received certificates of recognition from Valley dignitaries, including Congressman David Valladao and Representative Jim Costa.

Bridge-to-College, founded in 2018, has served more than 200 students.

According to the nonprofit, 99% of participants are graduating or currently attending prestigious universities nationwide.

Action News anchor Christina Lopez served as the emcee for the event.
