FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A Fresno woman was nearly kidnapped at gunpoint, and the struggle was caught on camera.
Theresa Miller's brother-in-law says she is scared and shaken from the attack that happened last week -- especially since the suspects haven't been identified.
Miller, 34, was on her way home from the gym last Wednesday night. Security footage from her house and her brother-in-law's house just across the street show her pulling into the driveway. Then the unthinkable happens. Two men pull up right behind her and attempt to take her away.
"As he walked into the garage he put the gun to her head. He said, 'Don't say a word; don't fight me,'" said Thomas Miller, the victim's brother-in-law.
Security footage from two different vantage points shows the suspect's white sedan. Miller's husband is seen running out of the house after his wife, and luckily the two escape unharmed. Her brother-in-law was the first person she called after she and her husband fought off the two men.
"This could have happened to both my brother and my sister-in-law. They both could've been shot; they both had a gun to their head at one point," said Thomas Miller.
Miller says his sister-in-law is fearing for her life. He says the suspects didn't try to steal her car or purse even when she offered it to them.
"He did say several times repeatedly, 'You're going with me.' So there was no other purpose that he was there for than to take her," said Miller.
Right now, detectives are searching through security footage at the gym where she came from at the possibility that she was followed home. The Millers are hoping anyone with information about the suspects comes forward, so they can bring the attempted kidnappers to justice.
"The point is pay attention. Know your surroundings. We live in an environment now where you can find yourself in a scary predicament quickly if you're not attentive," said Miller.
Fresno police detectives say this is an isolated incident and they rarely ever see situations like this in any part of Fresno. If you have any information about the suspects, you're urged to call the Fresno Police Department.
