Crews battling Point Fire burning on Highway 152 in Merced County

MERCED COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- CAL FIRE crews are fighting a wildfire in Merced County over that sparked around 9 a.m. Wednesday.

CAL FIRE calls the fire 'Point Fire' which started on Highway 152 and Dinosaur Point Road in Santa Nella.

The Point Fire has burned 650 acres and it's 50% contained as of Wednesday night.

The fire at one point closed one lane of Highway 152 but has recently reopened.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.
