Madera County Sheriff's Office release facial reconstruction to help identify man found dead in 1990

MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- Madera County sheriff's deputies hope new forensic facial reconstruction images will help identify a man known as John Doe for the past 36 years.

On February 26, 1990, investigators found the remains of a man on the east side of the San Joaquin River, near Firebaugh. At that time, he had no identification.

He was wearing a short-sleeve, white, tan and brown plaid cowboy shirt, Levi blue jeans and a brown leather belt with a silver buckle.

The man is said to be between 5' 4" and 5' 7" and between 23 and 28 years old.

Ancestry analysis suggests he may be of Native American or Hispanic descent.

Investigators believe this reconstruction closely represents what he may have looked like over the years.

If you have any information related to this case, please contact the Madera County Sheriff's Department.
