Man airlifted to hospital following shooting in Merced, police say

MERCED, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man is in the hospital following a shooting in a neighborhood in Merced on Monday night.

According to Merced police, officers responded to a shooting in the area of "R" Street near Emmanuel Baptist Church around 8 p.m., where they found a man with several gunshot wounds.

The victim was airlifted to a hospital. Officers say he is expected to survive.

Authorities believe there are multiple suspects involved. No arrests have been made.
