Man hit by vehicle in Valero parking lot in southeast Fresno, police say

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man is in the hospital after being hit by a vehicle in southeast Fresno late Sunday night.

It happened before 10 pm at the Valero Gas Station parking lot on Ventura and 5th.

Police say the driver was going through the lot to get to a gas pump when the vehicle ran over an unhoused man.

The driver tells police he couldn't see the victim, who suffered cuts to his head.

The victim was taken to Community Regional Medical Center and is being treated for his injuries.

The driver is cooperating with the investigation.
