TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- A Tulare County church is determined to rebuild after a building used for bible studies and youth groups was destroyed in a fire.
The building is now leveled after it caught fire on Wednesday morning.
Video shows how close the flames were to the sanctuary, which was untouched by the fire.
The church calls it a miracle.
"It was a little emotional, but I just thank God that no one was hurt and things can always be replaced and structures can be rebuilt so we look forward to that," says Alex Angulo, his dad is the pastor of the church.
Alex spent part of his childhood in the pastoral home.
Which was eventually turned into a community center for youth groups and bible studies.
"This is just a place where we would congregate and break bread as a community so that place has definitely had an impact on us, so we look forward to rebuilding," shares Alex.
The fire destroyed part of the plumbing system.
The church brought in portable restrooms to resume services by Friday.
Although the cause of the fire is still unknown, the church is certain that their faith, resilience and community support will get them through this challenging time.
"We look forward to rebuilding and bringing a place that we can gather again and have fellowship with one another and grow our community and serve our local church, and well as the community out there and we look forward to doing that in the future," expresses Alex.
The church plans to resume services on Friday evening and continue with their usual schedule, with services on Sundays at 10 a.m., as well as Wednesday and Friday evenings.
In the meantime, there is a GoFundMe for people who would like to help.
