Student hospitalized after being hit by vehicle near Sunnyside High School

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A student is in the hospital with severe injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Southeast Fresno on Friday, police say.

The crash happened before 6 p.m. near Kings Canyon Road and Peach Avenue, near Sunnyside High School.

Fresno police said the student was hit by a car but did not release details about what led to the crash.

The student was taken to the Community Regional Medical Center for their injuries.

Authorities said the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
