Woman killed in car crash in Tulare, CHP says

TULARE, Calif. (KFSN) -- A woman has died following a car crash in Tulare Wednesday morning.

The crash happened before 8 am on Enterprise Street and Tulare Avenue.

The California Highway Patrol says a 73-year-old woman in a Saturn was on Enterprise when she stopped at a stop sign.

At the same time, officials a 16-year-old girl was driving a Jeep on Tulare and had the right of way.

Officers say for an unknown reason, the woman did not wait for the Jeep and started to cross the intersection.

The cars collided and the 73-year-old died at the scene.

She has not yet been identified.

The exact cause is under investigation.
