UC Merced kicks off new semester with changes across campus

MERCED, Calif. (KFSN) -- Summer vacation has ended for students at UC Merced as they await the first day of classes Wednesday morning.

The university will be bustling with students all day as they return to the classroom.

The energy surrounding the start of the academic year is expected to be high among students and staff, especially for those students beginning their UC Merced experience.

New on campus this year includes the Promise Housing for Merced College students, the upcoming completion of the Medical Education Building, new academic programs and other ways the campus continues to expand.
