Man dies after attempting to retrieve keys from storm drain in Lemoore

LEMOORE, Calif. (KFSN) -- Christopher Opinion, 20 of Lemoore, died after he tried to retrieve a set of keys from a storm drain. It happened overnight near Spyglass and Augustus Drive.

Investigators said Opinion lost his car keys in storm drain and decided to pop-off a manhole cover to look for them. During his search Opinion got stuck and several agencies raced to pull him out while residents looked on.

Authorities say Opinion was found in a 36 inch storm drain about 75 feet from where he entered.

Crews were able to recover Opinion's body around 2:15 a.m.
