Volunteers needed to place American flags at Visalia cemetery on Memorial Day

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Preparations are getting underway for a big ceremony to honor fallen veterans in the South Valley. Volunteers are needed.

More than 2,000 large American flags will be placed at the Visalia District Cemetery on Memorial Day. Each flag is marked with a veteran's name and branch of service. It's called the Avenue of the Flags.

Volunteers are invited to help set up and clean up. There are opportunities to help starting Saturday through Monday.

Anyone wishing to help with the flags and flag poles on Saturday, Sunday or Monday is asked to contact Bill Morland at (559) 300-2306.

The Visalia District Cemetery is located at 1300 West Goshen Avenue.
