DENVER -- Los Angeles Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh briefly left in the first quarter of Sunday's 23-16 win over the Denver Broncos.

The Chargers said Harbaugh had an illness, and Harbaugh later tolda CBS sideline reporter that he was dealing with an irregular heartbeat. He said in his postgame news conference that he has atrial flutter, a type of arrhythmia that causes the upper chambers of the heart to beat 250 to 350 times per minute.

When Harbaugh exited, the team said he was questionable to return to the game, and he was back on the sideline a short time later.

Defensive coordinator Jesse Minter served as the team's interim head coach.

Harbaugh first went to the team's medical tent before walking into the locker room with trainers.

With Harbaugh out, Chargers safety Elijah Molden secured an interception, and kicker Cameron Dicker made a field goal on the team's first offensive drive to give the Chargers a 3-0 lead.
