Time magazine names Valley man Instagram photographer of the year

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A Valley man who has only been on Instagram for a year has been named the Instagram photographer of the year by Time magazine.

Matt Black's focus is on poverty in the area and every image he's posted is in black and white. Although he's new to Instagram, Black has been a photographer for more than 20 years exploring issues of migration, farming and the environment in the area.

The pictures he's posted are part of his Geography of Poverty project. And Black says he appreciates how engaged his followers are with his photos.
