Obama Opens Campaign Office in Fresno

KFSN The Barack Obama campaign held a party yesterday for its new Central Valley Headquarters.

Staffers say since his big win Saturday in South Carolina, the phones have been non-stop. Volunteers are calling voters and especially reaching out to independents.

Obama hasn't visited the valley like his chief rival Hillary Clinton. She already opened a campaign office in Fresno a month ago. But Democrats say Obama could visit soon.

California Senator Dean Florez said, "I think he recognizes, we were just having a discussion a week ago, when he comes to CA that we not just go to the major centers. I think you might see something from Barack Obama in terms of clean air and asthma here in the next couple of days."

Political Science Professor Thomas Holyoke said Obama is gaining much necessary momentum moving into Super Tuesday.
