South Valley Water Danger Not Over

March 2, 2008 12:00:00 AM PST
About 2,000 people in the south valley still need to boil their tap water because of an E. coli scare. Both E. coli and fecal coliform bacteria were detected in the water supply in Woodville.

Anyone who drinks the bacteria could develop diarrhea and nausea, and if it goes untreated, it can kill you.

The public utility manager is now putting chlorine in the water system, but he won't know for sure if the water is safe until tests come back on Thursday.

Until then, he says nobody should drink the water or use it to wash dishes.
