Adan Ortiz Senior recalls the screaming and crying that came from his neighbor's home.

Ortiz said Naju Camarrillo's parents discovered the bodies' late Tuesday and asked Ortiz for help.

Ortiz said he went inside and saw the tragic scene. Investigators believe gun fired killed the 27-year-old man and his wife 24-year-old Maria Mendez.

Sgt. Robert Salas, Madera Police Department: "We did find a weapon at the scene and it appears something happened that lead to the escalation of violence that possibly the husband shot the wife."

Investigators report no prior incidents of domestic violence between the woman and her husband.

Neighbors said they never heard gun shots on Tuesday night. They are shocked calling the couple, quiet and from the outside, very happy.

Adan Ortiz, Jr., Madera: "Yeah, they were like a good couple. There were no problems. They never got into no fights. I don't know what happened."

The couple's family was here a few hours ago. They asked for privacy, because they are grieving the loss of two people.
