Man stuck in palm tree rescued in Central Fresno

FRESNO, Calif.

Action News was the only TV station on the scene as fire fighters rescued the man. Authorities say he was trimming the palm when he got caught in some of the fronds. He was stuck for about a half hour before a bystander walked by and heard the cry for help.

Linsay hudson said, "just after lunch and i go back to work and i hear this voice: help! Help! Help! Help! Come and help! And i look around and i don't know. Then i hear it coming from up in a tree and i looked up in the tree and there's a guy hung up in the tree."

It took two ladder trucks to get the man out of the tree. He's expected to be okay. Firefighters say work on tall trees like that one can be very dangerous and should be left to professionals.
