Jorge Hernandez was taken into custody by deputies after they were contacted by staff at Children's Hospital.
Hernandez's two month old daughter was brought in for treatment on November 5th. Investigators say the baby had injuries that were so severe -- she had to be put on life support.
Sheriff's detectives say their investigation showed Hernandez was responsible for those injuries. Doctors took the baby off life support Wednesday night.
Chris Curtice, with the Fresno County Sheriff's Office said, "It was kind of planned to take the baby off of life support at a specific time. The detectives knew when that was going to happen. And it's my understanding she succumbed to her injuries right away."
Officers arrested Jorge Hernandez at his home in Fresno. He's charged with felony child abuse.
