The fire happened at 3:15 a.m. Friday morning on Calaveras near McKenzie.
Fresno Fire Fighters say they received a call about a heater on fire in a duplex. When they arrived they found the building on fire.
No one was injured and five people inside the duplex got out safely.
An investigation is underway to determine the official cause of the fire.
