Missing Nevada woman found, survived on tomatoes, snow, in Sierra

CARSON CITY, Nev.

Paula Lane was rescued Wednesday along a dirt road in Hope Valley after her brother commandeered a highway front loader and went looking for her.

The Nevada Appeal reports the 46-year-old Gardnerville woman is recovering from frostbite at a Carson City hospital after spending six nights in the frigid Sierra Nevada in California's Alpine County.

Lane and 44-year-old Roderick Paul Clifton were reported missing after they left Citrus Heights, Calif., on the afternoon of Nov. 29. When their Jeep became stuck in mud, Clifton tried to hike out. His body was recovered along the road.
