Fans fill Valley sports hangouts to watch Fresno State vs. San Jose game

FRESNO, Calif.

"It's a big deal, our team hasn't been this good in god knows how long, and I'm not a fan of San Jose we're big rivals," Jesse Barragan from Fresno said.

Barragan said Thanksgiving kept him from traveling but even a big turkey dinner hangover could not keep him from cheering on his hometown team with his buddies.

"I grew up here, Fresno State has been part of my family since I can remember," Barragan said.

Fans at World Sports Café were discussing the BCS standings.

"You can't get anything better than the sports at this place, they show everything all the time," Chris Seher from Fresno said.

For Seher Neighbors Bar is the only place to be.

"We're hoping for a solid win today they've gotta bump us up in the standings because we've gotta be in the top 12 to hit a BCS bowl, everyone in this town is hoping for that," Seher said.

Seher says he credits coach Deruyter for driving the football program forward.

"let's hope he stays, let's hope we find a reason for him to stay," Seher said.
