Four men, accused of growing more than 53 acres of marijuana in the Coarsegold area, have been arrested.

The Madera County Sheriff's Office say Angel Campos-Cruz, Juan Lozano, Jesus Madriz, and Gustavo Zapin were in the process of expanding the size of the operation when law enforcement arrived.

Investigators are not releasing the exact location of the grow, but say they destroyed about 22,000 plants -- 600 of them were full grown.

Also found on the property was a fully loaded 12 gauge shotgun and several rounds of ammunition.
