They were asking drivers to help "Fill the Boot." It's part of an annual campaign, raising money for the Central Valley Muscular Dystrophy Association. The money is used to help send children with physical disabilities to camp in June.
"Everybody seems to be very supportive every year, so yeah the community seems to be on board," said Tommy Sayarath with the Porterville Fire Department.
Members of the fire department say they like to be a part of this event every year because it feels good to help kids.
