SAN FRANCISCO -- It looks like anyone hoping to pick up their new Apple Watch on Friday, April 24 will have to wait a bit longer.
On Thursday Apple removed the April 24 availability date from its website, saying the watches likely won't be shipped until June.

Demand for the watches has apparently exceeded expectations.
Reports say about 1 million people pre-ordered one last Friday, the first day orders were taken.
Customers can still order a watch, or make an appointment to try one on in an Apple store.
The Apple Watch is the Cupertino company's first new consumer product in five years.
